Vitamins for skinTreatment of sun burn

When someone has sunburn, it usually gets healed after just a few weeks by itself. But this also depends on the location when the sunburn has happened and the severity of the sunburn as well. In case sunburn does have to be treated, there are a number of remedies for it. But before going for any of those remedies,

it is advisable to consult your physician so that further information can be obtained. One of the ways to lessen the pain of sunburn and the increase in the temperature of the skin is to take a cool bath. The bath should be cool and not cold. Instead of a bath, wet and cool compressions can also be applied to the skin. The pain can be decreased by taking pain relievers. One example of a pain reliever is aspirin. Because of the danger of Reye syndrome, teenagers and children should not be provided with aspirin. Other pain relievers include ibuprofen and acetaminophen.

In order to reduce the swelling of the skin and the dehydration caused by the sunburn, moisture should be provided to the skin. This can be done by using aloe, topical moisturizing cream, or hydrocortisone cream of one percent.

In order to prevent any more negative effects, the person with sunburn should keep himself in the shade until the time the sunburn has healed. If there is more exposure to the sun, the pain and the severity of the sunburn will increase.
