Skin pigmentation refers to the skin color of human skin. There are different types of skin as well, and it can be of any type from oily skin to dry skin.
The role which skin plays in the protection of the body is a very big one. This is because it is in constant interaction with the environment. The body is protected by the skin from pathogens which can cause it harm. There are a number of other functions of the skin besides protecting the body, and these include the regulation of temperature, insulation, protecting the folates of vitamin B, production of vitamin D, and sensation. When skin gets damaged very severely, scar tissue is formed by it to heal itself. Scar tissue is often depigmented and discolored.
When skin is not clean, the pathogenic organisms find a favorable environment to develop in. a filthy layer is formed on the surface of the skin, and when this is not washed of a foul smell is produced. Because of the filth on the skin, the skin can also not perform its functions, and the chance of damage to the skin also increases. |
